I'm always seeking ways to nurture preschoolers’ curiosity and observation of the natural world around us. Preschoolers investigate and dissect seed pods throughout the year, plant and grow vegetables in our garden, and notice the changes in the leaves on the Pistache tree and orange tree in the yard as the seasons change. They use their imagination when playing with natural objects: pinecones have magical powers, rocks become food to buy at a grocery store, and seashells become bowls for fairies. Preschoolers improve gross motor skills as they balance on tree stumps and trunks. Nature play fosters a sense of wonder, curiosity, and respect for the natural world, leading to a deeper appreciation for the environment!
